Althoff, Simpson lead Dealernews executive team

Founder and President

Bob Althoff is the Dealer principal and self-proclaimed “World’s Luckiest Man” at A.D. Farrow Co. Harley-Davidson, a group of three dealerships in Columbus, OH. Althoff, along with his wife, Valerie, acquired A.D. Farrow in 2003. Under Althoff’s leadership, A.D. Farrow expanded from its single, historic downtown store to three thriving dealerships in the greater Columbus area, and won Top 100 Dealer honors for 11 of the last 12 years.

Althoff has been riding motorcycles for more than 50 years. An avid industry historian, he acquired the Heroes of Harley-Davidson exhibit from the American Motorcyclist Association, and maintains the valuable Motor Co. archive on the A.D. Farrow website.

Althoff is the 2013 recipient of the Don J. Brown Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his lifelong dedication to the business, lifestyle, community and sport.

Founder and Chairman

Stan Simpson is an American Motorcyclist Association Hall of Fame honoree and past association chairman.

In addition to being lifelong enthusiast and industry visionary, Simpson also owns JRJ Enterprises Inc., which offers off-road and adventure motorcycle parts, and service and modifications in Cibolo, TX. He also is principal of TekZone LLC, specialists in engineered steel products for industrial forklifts and the materials handling industry.

Simpson previously served as principal owner and chief operating officer of Simpson Racing.

Simpson is an avid street and off-road rider, and vintage motorcycle collector. He directs and assists various off-road riding events, including the Colorado 500, and is an advocate for riders’ rights and land access. He will be guiding the efforts of the Land Access dealer working group on Dealernews INSIDER.


Dealernews founder and equity partner Scott Johnson is a longtime associate of Bob Althoff, and brings a wealth of media expertise to the management team.

Johnson is CEO of University Nutrition in Columbus, OH, and for the last three decades has served as president of Basic Brands/Basic Media Group, a custom publisher and marketing agency with operations in Ohio and California.


Vice President and General Manager

Mary Green directs the editorial content on and the DealerNEWS ALERT enewsletters, working with the owners and Dealers to develop news reports, research and analysis to satisfy the needs of the powersports retail community. She also manages the Top 100 Dealer competition, and is the administrator for the Dealernews INSIDER dealer community portal.

Green (formerly Mary Slepicka) was publishing director, editorial director and associate publisher of Dealernews from 2001 to mid-2015, and managed the Top 100 Dealer competition from 2003 to 2015. In addition to her work on Dealernews, she has her own content agency, and is the Chicago chapter president for a leading business press association. Her career as an award-winning business journalist and editor spans three decades and four industries.
