New Land Speed Record: 360 mph

Rider Rocky Robinson and the Top 1 Oil Ack Attack team used a Suzuki-powered Streamliner to achieve a new land speed record for motorcycles Sept. 26.

The ride was a part of the 2008 BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials on Utah¹s Bonneville Salt Flats.

Robinson reached a speed of 360.913 mph, subject to Federation Internationale de Motoclysme (FIM) recognition, eclipsing the previous top speed of 350.884 mph set by Chris Carr in 2006 aboard the BUB Enterprises' streamliner "Seven" owned by Denis Manning. The FIM witnessed Robinson's record run, which is being certified by the Bonneville Nationals and the Southern California Timing Association.

The Top 1 Oil Ack Attack team is owned by California-based businessman Mike Akatiff. The team used a modified Hayabusa engine.
