Genoa, Ohio, Dealer Expands to Survive

Tanks may soon take over the streets of Genoa, Ohio. But not to worry, these Tanks are scooters, standing alongside the new Rowentas, plus dirt bikes, ATVs and utility vehicles at Main Street Motors.

Mike Mullins and his wife, Rhonda, chose motorsports as their third business, and it’s right next door to one of their others, a café. The couple also owns a private investigation agency. The new dealer does all major and minor repairs on cars, trucks, vans, scooters, ATVs and motorcycles. It offers full detailing, oil changes, brake inspections, exhaust systems, air-conditioning repair and battery testing. It also offers towing and pickup and drop-off service whenever possible, according to the Port Clinton News Herald.

Mullins started the dealership more than three years ago at another location, but as the economy soured he needed a new site to expand from just sales to service. "I needed to get into the service industry," he said. "I also noticed the need for affordable and reliable mechanical service in the (Genoa) area," he said.

Main Street Motors also sells used cars, trucks, vans, scooters and ATVs.

The dealer also offers an "interest-free, buy here, pay here" policy with low money down, low monthly payments and no credit checks, Mullins told the newspaper.
