Ducati's long-awaited Hypermotard 796 will make its West Coast debut this weekend at the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show in San Mateo, Calif.

Also on display will be Mission One, the fastest production electric motorcycle in the world.

The weekend show also will feature more than 30 seminars and offer demo rides from five vehicle manufacturers.

Seminars on long distance riding, setting up bike suspensions, helmet fitment, dual-sport riding and preparing yourself for a track day will be held throughout the weekend at The Hub, sponsored by Allstate Insurance.

Can-Am/Spyder will offer demo rides for licensed riders with the proper riding gear, as will Harley-Davidson, Kawasaki, Star Motorcycles and Yamaha. Friday night is Ladies' Night. Female attendees will receive half off the entrance fee as long as they have a coupon, which they may download at www.motorcycleshows.com. Sunday is Family Day, and that means everyone 11 and under will get into the show for free with an accompanying adult admission.

Even if you don't qualify for one of the previous discounts, you still can get up to $3 off admission by purchasing your tickets online at www.motorcycleshows.com. Online tickets cost $12, vs. $15 at the box office.

The San Mateo Cycle World International Motorcycle Show will be held at the San Mateo Expo Center, 2495 W. Delaware. Hours are 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Parking is available for $8 per car; but if you ride your motorcycle, you can park for free.
