2009 Top 100 Judges Award High Marks for Customer Service and Marketing Ability

Dealernews magazine, the premier business-to-business publication for motorcycle, ATV and other powersports dealerships, has named the winners of the 18th Annual Top 100 Dealer Awards. The Top 100 Awards is the powersports industry’s largest, longest running and most prestigious retail competition, recognizing dealerships for their efforts in retail design and merchandising, marketing and promotion, dedication to customer service, community involvement, and even their internal work environment.

“The winners of this year’s Top 100 Competition demonstrate the commitment of Powersports dealerships to their customer base,” says Mary Slepicka, editorial director of Dealernews and director of the competition. “Judges awarded high marks not so much for what a store has, but what a store is doing with it, and how well it understands its customer base and community.”

Dealers from 38 states and four Canadian provinces are represented in the Class of 2009. (A full list of winning dealerships follows.) States with the most Top 100 dealers include Texas (8), California (8), Virginia (6), Indiana (5), Missouri (5) and Ohio (5).

“After several years with only one or two dealerships in the Top 100, it was nice to see California make such a strong showing this year,” Slepicka says. “And the increasing number of Top 100 Dealers in Virginia is a testament to the wonderful riding areas in that state and how well the dealers there connect with their local communities.”

The 2009 Top 100 Dealers are being honored tonight at an invitation-only awards reception in conjunction with the 41st Annual Dealernews International Powersports Dealer Expo, which is being held today through Monday at the Indiana Convention Center and the new Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis. The Top 100 Dealer of the year, along with the winners of more than a dozen Merit Awards for Best Dealership Exterior, Best Use of Theme, Best Display, Best Community Involvement Program, Best Customer Service Initiative and more, will be announced tonight as well.
