David Naaman has turned his lifelong dream into an unusual niche business: He has the biggest assortment of junk motorcycles in Mississippi, perhaps the country.
2D Cycle Parts in Yazoo City ships parts for ATVs and Japanese-made motorcycles all over the world. And it all started at a motorcycle shop in Greenwood.
“Andy Bridges hired me to work at Honda Sales of Greenwood when I was 12 years old,” Naaman told the Delta Business Journal. “He guided me and taught me for about four years and then left to pursue becoming an airplane pilot.”
Naaman started scouting for parts when he went to work for Bridges Repair in 1991. He later bought out the shop and turned to supplying parts. Today he has two acres covered with more than 2,200 motorcycles and ATVs.
“A lot of the electrical and mechanical systems on these machines were made for a very short time and in limited numbers,” Naaman says. “And now they’re becoming scarce, and people have good running ATVs that they want to keep running, so they call me and I tell them I have the part or I can find the part for them.”
