FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Think of it as Facebook for motorcycles. A team of industry marketers is targeting riders with a podcast, blog and online photo gallery highlighting all things motorcycle.
Launched during the 2013 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, 4Ever2Wheels has posted more than 3,000 images of motorcycles, motorcycle-related content items and has captured more than 30,000 online impressions in its first several months, its operators said.
Co-owner Ken Conte said a treasure trove of motorcycle images discovered in a random Internet search gave him the idea. "As I looked through images from a random motorcycle search, I realized I know only a tiny bit of motorcycle history,” he said. “I looked further and it became apparent that other people who enjoyed similar images and could submit their own images, and the idea for 4Ever2Wheels.com was born."
Hosting weekly podcasts gives Conte an opportunity to have long form discussions with industry luminaries. Conte said they should be available on iTunes within the next 30 days. The first two guests on the 4 Ever 2 Wheels Podcast are Michael Lichter and "Irish Rich".
Conte also owns motorcycle marketing agency Rise Above Consulting. The other half of the company and the brains behind the blog design and technology is web developer and programmer Eric Byrd. Kevin Carnes, whom Conte credits as an influence behind the Sucker Punch Sally's brand, is the creative force and works on brand development.
The team said it plans to introduce a mobile app before the end of the year. The app will let users peruse all the 4E2W galleries from mobile devices. The team hopes ultimately to let enthusiasts to post their own photos to the web site. They’re also working on T-shirts, stickers and bandanas.
Podcast sponsors are Hot Leathers, KandGCycles, Precision Billet and the Broken Spoke Saloon. More information is available at info@4Ever2Wheels.com.
