BREA, Calif. – 6D Helmets will be making their rounds in a new 2013 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van after winning the “Drive Your Business Forward” contest held by Fast Company Magazine and Mercedes-Benz. The prize also included $10,000 toward customization of the van.
6D submitted a 90-second video explaining how a Sprinter would help support their business. They were chosen from among hundreds of entries, and 6D’s Bob Weber and Robert Reisinger received the keys in November. In the weeks since, the customization has been completed.
The 6D van was outfitted to accommodate a mobile office in the front and a helmet workshop in the back. Automotive Design & Fabrication in San Fernando, Calif., handled the conversion of the interior. PPG Paints and Kelly & Son’s The Crazy Painters collaborated on the 6D-branded exterior. Other companies involved in the customization included Kicker Audio, Clarion Audio, Matrix Concepts and RB Components.
Amie Deutch, Fast Company’s Associate Publisher, said, “Fast Company covers the intersection of great design, technology and innovation — and 6D Helmets fuses these elements together into a game-changing product. We chose 6D as the winner of the ‘Drive Your Business Forward’ contest because they are poised to impact the entire helmet industry, and a new Sprinter will allow them to bring their business to the next level.”
