Bernard Li, founder of Eagle One Car Care Products, tragically passed away May 3 as a result of injuries received in a single motorcycle accident on Highway 260, just outside of Springerville Arizona. Springerville is near Eastern Arizona's White Mountains. He was 62.
Known as "Barney" to his friends, Li was a lifetime motorcycle enthusiast and entrepreneur. In addition to his successful Eagle One Company, he also created Wheels of Fortune Motorcycles, a Yamaha dealership in Carson, Calif. His dream was to recreate the Vincent Motorcycle brand and he had developed several prototypes of the reincarnated icon.
Gary Bryson, a longtime friend of Barney's was also on the ride. He said, "We don't know the cause of the accident, but we do know that he was doing what he loved to do and that's ride his Motorcycles." Barney was an experienced rider, having ridden motorcycles since his college days. We may never know what caused this tragedy, but we know he will be missed by his friends and family, as well as his many business associates.
The accident happened at around 10:30 Saturday morning; the cause is unknown and there were no witnesses.
Mr. Li is survived by his wife Elizabeth; two sons Justin and Darren; daughter Nikki; and brother Jerry.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. May 8 at the El Camino Memorial and Mortuary, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, Calif, 92121. A viewing will be held prior to the service at 12:30.
