IRVINE, Calif. - Advanstar Communications, parent of Dealernews, Dealer Expo and the Progressive International Motorcycle Shows, announced today that former AMA and Suzuki executive Kerry Graeber will join the Powersports Group management team on Dec. 13 as brand director.
Graeber will lead the product strategy and execution of the group’s growth plans for the Progressive International Motorcycle Shows, Dealer Expo and Dealernews.
“Graeber brings significant industry and media experience to Advanstar from his positions as vice president and director of communications for AMA Pro Racing and his role at American Suzuki Motor Corp., where he was responsible for advertising and brand development of Suzuki automotive, motorcycle and ATV product lines,” said Danny Phillips, executive vice president of Advanstar.
Graeber joins former AMA colleague Jim Moore in leading the new management team. Moore, who joined Advanstar in October, heads up the sales strategy for all exhibit, sponsorship and advertising services. Moore previously was director of business development and sales for the AMA and the Hall of Fame Museum.
Both Graeber, as brand director, and Moore, as sales director, will report directly to Phillips.
Industry veteran Tracy Harris, vice president and general manager of the Powersports Group, is taking on wider responsibilities, directing the company's expo operations teams across the United States. Harris will lead centralized operations for all of the company’s events, including trade expos in the veterinary and licensing groups as well as Dealer Expo and the motorcycle shows.
“She will build on the successful operations and customer service management approach she developed for the motorcycle events, and apply this model across the corporation,” Phillips said.
"As we invest in and expand the International Motorcycle Shows and Dealer Expo, and continue to secure tens of thousands of industry and consumer visitors to our digital and print platforms, I'm delighted that Kerry and Jim have decided to join us," Phillips said. "With the expansion of Tracy Harris' service and operations role, and Kerry and Jim's resume of experience and relationships, we are in a prime position to continue investing in our flagship brands, and expand our educational and digital offerings to better serve our customers."
"Tracy, Jim and Kerry are well-respected industry professionals who, as a team, will help take our leading brands to the next level," Phillips added.
Dealernews content director Mary Slepicka and her team will report to Graeber. The sales teams for Dealernews, Dealer Expo (led by Peggy Zamberlan) and the motorcycle shows will report to Moore.
Both Graeber and Moore will assume their new roles ahead of the Progressive International Motorcycle Show scheduled for Dec. 17-19 in Long Beach, Calif.
