AFX Develops Dual-Sport Lid

Madison, WI - AFX Helmets' Doug Hill says he has an "Indy surprise" for Shoei and Arai. It's a new line of dual-sport helmets the manufacturer will unveil at the 2009 Dealer Expo next February. The FX-37 Dual Sport Helmet series is a motocross helmet with a flip-down shield, suitable for dual-sport riders as well as ATV and SxS enthusiasts, he told reps at the Parts Unlimited Showcase being held this weekend. AFX claims the the helmet allows sufficient airflow through the visor so that it doesn't jerk a rider's head back at higher speeds. The helmets will come in silver, pearl white and flat black.

"This is for the customer who won't spend $800 on an Arai," Hill told the Parts Unlimited regional reps. Indeed, the FX-37 helmets will retail at $114.95.

Although the helmets will be on display for the first time in Indy, Hill said that Parts should have stock in its Janesville, Wis., warehouse by the first of November.
