MADISON, Wis. - Alpinestars is celebrating its 50th anniversary with the company’s biggest launch ever, debuting 62 new products in the 2014 collection, which it showed last weekend during the Parts Unlimited National Vendor Presentation.
Among the standouts are the new line of RideOut urban adventure gear and the Black Shadow line of leather jackets.
The RideOut line is designed to be just as functional off the bike as on it, and features seven new jackets. The Tyler Down ($379.95), Stella Cassie ($379.95) and Stella Francie ($269.95) are down-filled jackets that come with CE armor in the shoulders and elbows, plus a back protector compartment.
The Mack ($269.95) is an insulated jacket with the same riding protection as the down options.
The other three jackets in the RideOut line are all waterproof men’s designs, including the three-layer Dusk ($399.95) and Lance ($399.95). Both have a removable thermal liner as well as a removable mesh liner.
The two-layer Scion ($219.95) has a loose fit, detachable hood and comes in a couple of bold color choices, like Vermillion Orange and Bright Green (image, left).
For the more traditional rider, Alpinestars has the new Black Shadow line of leather jackets, which come in black only. The Phantom ($799.95) is the sportier of the three, with a short aero hump on the back and TPU sliders on both the shoulders and elbows.
The Hades ($699.95) is a streamlined version of the Phantom, eliminating the TPU sliders on the elbows, some of the additional padding and the aero hump. The Huntsman ($699.95) is constructed of “distressed” full grain leather and vintage-style YKK zippers.
Some of the 2014 releases are all new items, like the women’s Stella Motegi race suit, while others, like the Tech 10 and Tech 7 motocross boots, are revamped designs.
The entire 2014 collection is available for ordering.
