American Honda Unveils 2008 Models


American Honda Motor Company's Motorcycle Division announced today its first 2008 motorcycle and ATV products.

"Today we're introducing the first of the 2008 Honda models, led by our flagship the Gold Wing, in dramatic new colors," a Honda spokesman said. "In addition, we've made EPS, our unique electric power steering system, more accessible with its application on the Foreman FM. All 2008 Honda ATVs also now feature a one-year warranty. Several of our most popular models, including the Shadow Aero and CRF150R motocrosser, will be in dealer showrooms early this summer and many of our off-road motorcycles and ATVs are available as well."


Gold Wing
Powered by a fuel-injected 1832cc six-cylinder engine and featuring an 80-watt-per-channel premium audio system. Selected models feature a cold-weather comfort package, satellite navigation, and the first fully integrated rider airbag. Four new colors are offered in 2008: Metallic Red, Pearl White, Titanium and Black join Dark Red Metallic. MSRP $19,599 - $24,649.

Shadow Aero
This 745cc retro-styled V-twin has big-bike looks and feel, impeccable road manners, a low 25.9-inch seat height, shaft drive and an attractive price. New for 2008 are a classic two-into-two exhaust system with bullet-style mufflers, custom-styled Shadow tank logo and five colors: Candy Dark Red, Metallic Silver/Black, Black/White, Candy Dark Red/White and classic Black. MSRP $6,799 - $7,099.

Shadow Spirit 750 C2
Following a complete redesign in 2007, the 750-class cruiser returns with a street-rod style 21-inch front wheel, low 25.7-inch one-piece gunfighter seat and three new colors: Metallic Silver, Candy Dark Red/Flame, and Ultra Blue Metallic/Flame join Black. MSRP $6,799 - $7,099.

This entry-level cruiser is available in new Silver Metallic and classic Black, MSRP: $3,199.

Dual Sport

The electric-start XR650L dual-sport motorcycle is available in Red, MSRP: $5,949.


With its four-stroke 149cc liquid-cooled four-valve Unicam engine and high-tech suspension, the CRF150R and CRF150R-Expert seek to redefine the small-displacement motocross category. Available in Red, MSRP: $4,199 (CRF150R), $4,299 (CRF150RB).


CRF230F, CRF150F
With the power of a 223cc four-stroke engine, electric starting and long-travel suspension, the CRF230F is for riders eager to explore off-road riding. Like its bigger sibling, the CRF150F features electric starting, 32.5-inch seat height and a 149cc four-stroke engine. For 2008, both models have redesigned seats and fuel tanks for a slimmer, lighter handing feel and improved riding comfort. Available in Red, MSRP: $3,649 (CRF230F), MSRP: $3,149 (CRF150F).

The CRF100F remains the best selling off-road bike of all time. Available in Red, MSRP: $2,399.

The CRF80F is geared for young riders ready to step up to a traditional manual-shift machine with big-bike features. Available in Red, MSRP: $2,099.

With Honda Racing-inspired styling, low seat height and three-speed transmission with automatic clutch, the CRF70F is for growing riders. Available in Red, MSRP: $1,699.

The CRF50F is Honda's bestselling off-road machine. It features a 49cc four-stroke engine, inverted front fork and single-shock rear suspension. Available in Red, MSRP: $1,349.

All Terrain Vehicles (ATV)

FourTrax Rincon/FourTrax Rincon GPScape
The FourTrax Rincon has an electronic fuel-injected 675cc engine, three-speed automatic transmission with torque converter, TraxLok 2WD/4WD system, independent rear suspension, front and rear disc brakes and the advantages of GPS navigation. Available in new White, plus Red, Olive and NaturalGear Camouflage. GPScape model offered in Red and NaturalGear Camouflage. MSRP $7,849 - $8,399.

FourTrax Foreman Rubicon/FourTrax Foreman Rubicon GPScape
The amazingly popular FourTrax Foreman Rubicon features the continuously variable Hondamatic transmission, TraxLok 2WD/4WD system, torque-sensitive front differential and GPScape navigation capabilities. FourTrax Foreman 4x4 ES/FourTrax Foreman
A powerful, longitudinally mounted 475cc engine, easy-to-use TraxLok 2WD/4WD system and torque-sensitive front differential make the Foreman 4x4 a popular choice with either manual shifting or Honda's Electric Shift Program (ESP). For 2008, both models are available with Electric Power Steering. Colors include new White, plus Red, Olive, and NaturalGear Camouflage. MSRP $6,449 - $7,399.

Available in manual- and electric-start versions, the TRX450R has won races in virtually every ATV racing arena as well as three Baja 1000 victories. New Black/Blue Flame color joins White and Red. MSRP: $6,849 (TRX450R), MSRP: $6,999 (TRX450ER), $7,149 (TRX450ERF).
