Apex Powersports merging to survive

admin

Victory/Polaris dealer Apex Powersports is merging with a peripheral business to survive the tough economy.

Apex already closed an East Haven, Conn., facility and moved to Branford.

Bruce Ullerup, a co-owner with Paul Scarpa and a silent partner for the past three years, also owns The Power Equipment Source with his mother, Joan O’Connell. The store provides sales, parts and maintenance service on new or used commercial and residential landscaping equipment, according to the New Haven Register.

“We wanted to be under one roof and provide one-stop shopping. Everything’s put together and serviced here,” Ullerup says. “We’re planning to (formally) merge eventually. We’re starting with letting everybody know we’re in the same spot.”

The showroom is 6,000 square feet.
