Arctic Cat recalls XC 450 quads for steering tie-rod replacement

Arctic Cat is recalling about 1,400 XC 450 ATVs after it was determined that the steering tie-rod on these models could bend, causing the rider to lose control of the vehicle. There have been three reports of bent tie-rods, but no injuries, according to the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC).

The recall includes all 2011 XC 450 ATVs and 2012 XC 450s with VINs ending in 6V0101-6V0178 and 700101-700230.

Registered owners are being notified by mail. CPSC is advising all owners to “immediately stop” using the vehicles, and to take the units to their local dealer as soon as possible until they are repaired.
