ARCTIVA'S Mechanized 5 collection (worn in the image by sponsored rider Matt McFarren on Mt. Bachelor in Oregon; press image courtesy Arctiva) keeps men comfortable during harsh winter conditions. The star of the line is the all-in-one jacket (MSRP: $300), suited to mountain power riders, touring riders and those doing recreational plowing. The jacket is waterproof and windproof, providing maximum airflow by allowing perspiration vapor to pass through. Seams are reinforced with a leak-proof tape that bars water from seeping through stitching.

The Mech 5 bib (MSRP: $300) has all of the above features, along with snaps on the inside lower legs that let wearers shorten the legs by 1.5 to 3 inches. Both the jacket and bib can be worn with or without zip-in thermal insulation.

The Mech 5 glove (MSRP: $70) sports a three-way design, allowing riders to use the liner (for extreme cold conditions), omit the liner (for warm conditions), or place both sides of the liner on top of the hand (for added insulation). or
