Attention, powersports manufacturers: Dealer Expo launches 2011 Kickstart contest

The competition is underway to find the best new products at Dealer Expo – months before the show even begins.

Show management has issued a Call for Entries to the Kickstart New Product Contest, a three-year-old annual competition to find the “most outstanding” new product developments in the industry.

The competition is open to all 2011 contracted exhibitors. Products entered must have been introduced to the marketplace no earlier than July 1, 2010.

Product submissions will be evaluated by a blue ribbon panel of judges from the dealer community. Entrants must demonstrate that their product provides unique features fulfilling a specific need in the marketplace, resulting in outstanding market appeal, according to Kathryn Flinn, marketing manager for Advanstar Communications, parent company of Dealer Expo (and Dealernews).

Entry forms are due Oct. 29. Twenty-five finalists will be announced on Nov. 15. Winners will be revealed on Jan. 4, and the Dealers’ Choice grand prize winner will be announced in February at Dealer Expo. The company whose product is named the Dealers’ Choice will receive free exhibit space at the 2012 show.

Past finalists include Fusion Motorcycle’s LED system, a resettable hour meter from Hardline Products, an oil filter magnet from Motion Pro, and Risk Racing Palm Protectors. The 2010 Dealers’ Choice winner was BikeCondoms.
