SANTA ROSA, Calif. – Authorities suspect arson caused a fire at the Santa Rosa Cycle Gear store early April 19 and forced the store to close for cleanup and repairs.

The fire began in a trash bin behind the store and spread into the store, the Santa Rosa Fire Department told the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat.

Most of the damage was caused by smoke and water from the sprinkler system inside the store. The fire department estimated the structure damage at $10,000 and about $30,000 in merchandise and fixtures.

The fire remains under investigation.
