SUNNYVALE, Calif. - James McCormick is the new president and CEO of Shorai Inc., a manufacturer of powersports lithium batteries.

McCormick comes to Shorai with more than 25 years of financial and executive-level leadership experience. His role with Shorai will focus on scaling the company on a global level by increasing Shorai’s international presence with key distribution channels, as well as expanding its domestic distribution network.

In his most recent position, McCormick helped with the consolidation of Crossing Automation and Asyst Technologies. In 15 months, he took the consolidated companies from no revenue to $100 million in revenue, according to Shorai.

“We have had tremendous financial success since we launched the company in 2010,” said Kevin Riley, co-founder and executive vice president of sales and marketing for Shorai. “Our sales continue to climb, and we felt the need to bring in a leader that has a proven track record for taking companies to the next level. We believe James’ strengths in both short- and long-term financial planning will help us build our international business model, thus signing more key distributors and partners.”

McCormick stated: “Before accepting this new role with Shorai, I was looking to identify a company that was already making significant strides within their industry, and Shorai has definitely done that with their revolutionary LFX batteries. I look forward to helping build Shorai’s market presence and global availability in the coming months.”
