WICHITA, Kan. - BDM Performance Products — the company founded after the demise of Big Dog Motorcycles — is expanding its e-commerce offerings to include general PG&A for the on- and off-road markets.
Originally founded to supply parts and accessories to the estimated 25,000 Big Dog owners, BDM’s expansion move is the first phase of a multistep strategy to diversify the company’s product lineup. The company announced that it expects the line to grow tenfold over the next 90 days.
“We are projected to upload over 20,000 new part numbers every month to our e-commerce website,” said BDM spokeman Dave Siggins. “We are a lean and efficient company with big-company experience and infrastructure. We can react to meet customer needs rapidly while maintaining market-leading prices.”
A quick search of the company’s etailing site shows product listings for everything from Harley-Davidson parts and accessories to street and dirt gear from such brands as ICON, Alpinestars, Thor and Moose. The site also promotes $5 flat-rate shipping on orders in the United States.
BDM’s director of sales, Matt Moore, said that the first phase involves a holiday-themed promotion. The company has also launched a marketing campaign to let customers know that they carry more products than those exclusively for Big Dog models. “We will be advertising daily specials through December via print, social media, and web-based advertising channels,” Moore said.
