RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Beard Seats has released both a new side-by-seat seat and a new RZR door. The company also has redesigned one of its best-sellers: the Super TZ seat.
“We know that the stock seating in today’s UTVs is just fine for the average driver, but for those who want to fully experience all that this new generation of performance machines is capable of, they need to become part of the vehicle,” said Beard’s Greg Anderson. “We spent considerable time and went through countless design iterations to get the ‘fit’ of this seat right. Our goal was to find the optimal butt-to-pedals-to-steering wheel relationship and the right level of containment to hold that position. We’re very pleased with the result.”
The Torque seat features an aggressive design, oversized harness slots, and Beard’s signature suspension technology developed over decades of desert racing.
The Torque bolts directly into all 2008-to-2013 Polaris RZR models and 2012-to-2013 Arctic Cat Wildcat models. Can-Am Commander and Maverick models require an adapter kit sold separately. MSRP is $399.99.
Beard also considered the tight RZR cockpit. “It seems that most of the doors on the market rely on a hard-mounted filler panel to provide the hinge-point, but this solution drastically reduces the already limited space available to climb in and out of the vehicle,” Anderson said.
Beard’s door hinges on the existing frame pillar just behind the seats. The result is a door that opens the full width of the cab, allowing easier entry and exit as well as full access to the seat latches and gas filler cap. Furthermore, Beard RZR doors can be completely removed without tools.
In constructing the door, Beard mated a welded steel frame to a thermoformed polyethylene skin.
The RZR door kit is available from Parts Unlimited, Tucker Rocky and Western Power Sports. It fits all 2008-to-2011 Polaris RZR models and retails for $629.99. (Continued.)
