MANTENO, Ill. -- Proxibid and Lorenz Auction have combined to auction off the collection of former Land of Lincoln Harley-Davidson owner Ron Shreffler.

Bids are now being taken online via Proxibid, and there will be a chance to bid in person at 11 a.m. (Eastern) June 28 at the auction in Manteno, Ill.

Shreffler had planned to start a Harley-Davidson museum, but after selling out of the business in 2013, he decided to retire and sell off his collection, he told the Kankakee Daily Journal.

The live auction webcast will feature more than 500 lots including an array of collector bikes, paint sets, helmets, signs, limited edition memorabilia and toys.

“This is one of the largest and most comprehensive Harley-Davidson collections to ever be offered to the public,” said Larry Lorenz, auctioneer and owner of Lorenz Auction. “This auction includes low and number one serial numbers and first editions that will appeal to any serious bike collector or enthusiast.”
