Ton-Up Motorcycles of Phoenix, Ariz. recently signed on as a dealer of the exclusive Bimota brand.
Ton-Up Motorcycles opened in January 2007. The dealership also retails Aprilia, Benelli, Moto Guzzi, Royal Enfield and China-made Fly scooters.
Ton-Up's owners are Glenn Saber and Jim Smith, two enthusiasts who — like many other dealers in the industry — wanted to make their passion their business.
"Because many of our brands are so exclusive, we're primarily focused on service, low overhead and an old-school setup," parts and service manager Jeremy Wilson tells Dealernews. "We didn't want to be the big mega-shop. We wanted to be the personable, friendly shop where you can hang out and talk with people."
New York City-based Bimota North America, Inc. is the exclusive importer of Italian Bimota motorcycles to the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Ton-Up Motorcycles is the eighth Bimota dealership in the U.S., joining SuperMoto Italia in St. James, N.Y.; Bimota Spirit in Raleigh, N.C.; Ducati Miami; Salt Lake Motorsports in Utah; Beverly Hills (Calif.) Ducati; Pat Clark Motorsports in Las Vegas, Nev.; and Scuderia West in San Francisco, Calif.
Bimota plans to display new product in November at the 65th International Motorcycle Exhibition in Milan (EICMA), Nov. 6 to 11. Visit dealernews.com for daily updates from the show.
