BMW Cycle Sales Up 2.4% In 2007

BMW Motorrad says it sold 102,467 motorcycles worldwide in 2007, up 2.4 percent from 100,064 units sold in 2006.

BMW retailed more than 100,000 motorcycles for the first time in 2006.

BMW Motorrad had a big year in 2007. The company introduced five new models, opened its second dealership in China, purchased the Husqvarna brand, and introduced a new range of accessories, performance parts and apparel.

BMW supplies 142 BMW motorcycle retailers in the United States. BMW Motorrad?s line-up for 2008 features 18 models, including six new or extensively revised models, in four different categories.

BMW picked up a 2007 Motorcycle of the Year Award from Motorcyclist, which named the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure the Best Adventure Bike for the third year in a row.
