CANTON, Mich. – Not all dealers see the value of displaying their motorcycles at a car show, but some see the advantages of a obtaining a more visible profile among high-end customers. John Horner, owner of BMW Motorcycles of SE Michigan in Canton, plans to show three of his bikes Sunday at the Concours d'Elegance at St. John's in Plymouth Township.

“It's not just cars, it's bikes,” Horner told the Canton Observer & Eccentric. “I've been involved a long time, so when they wanted me to display, I was happy to.”

Horner said Concours organizers decided several years ago to add a “super bikes” area to their “super cars” show. This year, he’s the only bike dealer displaying. He said it's good for business.

“We don't count on it to bring in business, but it has,” Horner said. “We talk to a lot of people, and they ask a lot of questions. People say, ‘I didn't even know BMW did bikes.' Well, they do, and they have since before they got into cars.”
