WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. – BMW Motorrad has taken touring options up a notch with the latest luxury model, the K 1600 GTL Exclusive. BMW has not yet announced the MSRP for this upgraded version of the K 1600 GTL.

Sitting at the heart of the Exclusive is a 160hp in-line six-cylinder engine with three selectable riding modes: rain, road and dynamic. BMW Motorrad ABS, Dynamic Traction Control and a new Hill Start Control are included as standard. This is also the first BMW motorcycle to have a keyless ignition system.

Electronic suspension adjustment, a tire pressure monitor and an anti-theft alarm are some of the other features, though not every change is a big one. Even the traditional antenna has been replaced with a film antenna embedded in the lid of the top case, tucking it out of the way.

While the BMW K 1600 GTL Exclusive has a lot of perks for the rider, it is safe to say that the passenger has not been forgotten. The plush pillion seat is a new design, and it features a heated backrest.

Other upgrades that lend to the Exclusive name are the updated instrument design, embroidered liners for the cases, xenon headlights and four coats of paint (in the sole color option of Mineral). The audio system pairs with navigation and music devices as well as Bluetooth and satellite radio.
