In December BMW started shipping the 1000cc HP4; in January three special "90 years of BMW Motorrad" boxer models will arrive at dealerships; in February the company will start supplying the new F 800 GT midrange touring bike; and in March it will launch the brand-new R 1200 GS.
“We are confident that the new version of the world’s top-selling travel enduro bike will attract even more customers,” Schaller said. “We also anticipate powerful growth stimuli from our maxi-scooters. Since the market launch in the second half of 2012 we have been able to sell almost 5,300 vehicles, and we now look forward to the first whole sales year.”
Husqvarna Motorcycles supplied 10,751 motorcycles to the worldwide Husqvarna dealer network in 2012, up 15.7 percent compared to 2011. The most popular motorcycles in the single-cylinder sports segment (enduro, supermoto, motocross) were the 250cc/310cc models (2,758 units) and the 449cc/511cc models (1,627 units).
In the on-road segment, Husqvarna supplied as of December 1,936 of the Nuda 900 and Nuda 900R models, as well as 1,321 of the TR 650 Terra and TR 650 Strada models.
