BMW Recalls K1200 S and K1200 GT

BMW is recalling 39 units of the 2008 model year K1200 S and K1200 GT for a set screw that may have not been installed at its specific location within the oil duct. Consequently, an adequate supply of oil may not circulate within the engine, damaging the connecting rod and crankshaft. BMW dealers are asked to install a set screw. Registered owners are being contacted by mail.

The OEM also is recalling 75 units of the K1200 S because fasteners used to secure the front brake disc may not be long enough to ensure a secure mounting. Over time, these fasteners could loosen. BMW dealers are asked to inspect and install a longer front brake disc fastener and reroute the sensor cable.
