The United States served as BMW Motorrad's third largest sales market in 2007, eclipsed only by Germany and Italy.
BMW sold 102,467 motorcycles worldwide in 2007, up 2.4 percent from sales of 100,064 units in 2006. The OEM says it sold 21,504 motorcycles in Germany, 14,424 units in Italy, 12,094 units in the U.S. and 10,382 units in Spain.
The most successful models were the R 1200 GS and R 1200 GS Adventure, of which 30,077 units were sold worldwide.
BMW Motorrad's new R 1200 GS and R 1200 GS Adventure are being delivered to dealers in Germany now. The new F 800 GS, F 650 GS and HP2 Sport are scheduled to debut at dealerships in Germany on March 8, and the company plans to release the G 450 X in the second half of the year.
