Brammo, Inc. is rolling out its line of Empulse electric sportbikes, promising they’ll do over 100 mph and go 100 miles on a single charge.
The bikes will take a public bow at 11:15 a.m. July 24 at the 2010 Red Bull Grand Prix at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California.
CEO Craig Bramscher says the company will start producing three models of the bikes with different battery capacities: The Empulse 6.0 ($9,995) will go 60 miles on a charge; the Empulse 8.0 ($11,995) will go 80 miles, and the 10.0 ($13,995) will go 100 miles. The company claims the Empulse is the world's first production electric motorcycle to have a water-cooled motor.
While the company is looking to expand its dealership network, it will also sell the bikes at Best Buy stores.
