A popular Bronx motorcycle dealership has moved to make room for a car rental service.
Shelby’s Powersports USA wanted to move the business partly to get off of one of the most traffic congested and commercial streets in the Bronx. But then owners Nat and Angela Annamalai decided to open Sensible Car Rental.
As an authorized rental service of Affiliated Car Rental L.C., Nat Annamalai thought offering a rental car service would be a great addition to his and his wife’s business, and slowly began to incorporate it into Shelby Powersports USA last October, according to the Bronx Times-Reporter.
“It’s difficult for our type of business in New York when the weather gets cold and nobody is buying or using their motorcycles,” Nat Annamalai told the newspaper. “With the car rental business we are able to keep our company going when business is slow.”
The rental selection started with three cars, but Annamalai says he plans to have up to five cars during the spring, and possibly up to 10 or 12 cars within the next year.
