More than 1,300 BRP dealers, distributors and employees from Canada, the United States and as far away as Russia, Iceland and Slovenia assembled in Tampa, Fla., earlier this month to take part in the 50th anniversary celebrations of Ski-Doo snowmobiles. Ski-Doo produced its first sled in 1959.
BRP supplies more than 5,000 dealers in 80 countries. Club BRP is held several times a year on different continents in an effort to allow dealers worldwide to see new product and come together with BRP management, designers, engineers, marketing and sales representatives.
"Ski-Doo snowmobiles enjoy a 50-year track record of achievements and success in design, innovation and technology," said Jose Boisjoli, president and CEO. "However, BRP understands that the strength of its dealership and distribution network is key to its success and without the mixture of both, BRP would not be the leader in the powersports industry today."
BRP used Club BRP in Tampa to show the 2009 Ski-Doo lineup, including new REV-X platform variations as well as new touring models like the all-new GTX(i).
Doug Sagan, co-owner and general manager of Factory Recreation of Midland, Ontario, will be celebrating 20 years as a Ski-Doo dealer this year. He attended to see Ski-Doo's 2009 lineup.
"After riding both the 600 H.O. E-TEC and the 1200 4-TEC powered sleds, it is clear to me that we now have a more competitive and complete product offering," he said. "These engines are cleaner and more fuel efficient."
