BRP elevates Dawson and Martel, names new global marketing SVP

VALCOURT, Quebec - BRP announces three new top management appointments and the departure of two executives effective May 1.

BRP's vice president and chief financial officer, Claude Ferland, and Yves Leduc, vice president and general manager for North America, are stepping down from their positions May 1 and will help with an executive transition phase until June 1, the company said.

"Claude and Yves have both played a role in making BRP a leader in the powersports industry and their contribution to BRP's recent successful initial public offering was invaluable. I want to thank them for all the years of dedication to the organization and we all wish them well in their new endeavors," said BRP President and CEO Jose Boisjoli.

"BRP will soon be celebrating its first year as a public company and as we accelerate our global growth strategy, I am implementing changes designed to better leverage our strong product brands and global footprint," said Boisjoli. "As part of these changes, I am pleased to announce new roles for Sébastien Martel and Chris Dawson, and to welcome Anne Bélec to BRP."

Chris Dawson, who has been with the company since 1998, has been named vice president and general manager for global sales and consumer experience, where he will be responsible for global sales management, go-to-market activities, network development, customer relationship management, after-sales service, and parts, accessories and clothing (PAC). Dawson's first mandate is to merge BRP's North America and International divisions to “capture synergy opportunities and continue our focus on consumer experience,” the company said.

Dawson was most recently vice president and general manager for BRP's international division. Before that, he held roles in marketing, strategy and business development.

Sebastien Martel, with the company since 2004, is its new chief financial officer, responsible for all corporate finance including consolidation and reporting, tax, treasury as well as corporate communications, public affairs and investor relations. He was most recently vice president of strategic planning and business development, where he coordinated BRP's initial public offering process. Before that, he held roles in the finance organization, including vice president of finance and controls.

BRP newcomer Anne Bélec has been hired to fill the newly created position of senior vice president of global marketing, strategy and information systems. Bélec reportedly brings more than 25 years of business experience, primarily in the automotive industry. Through 2009 she held senior management positions in marketing, sales and product planning, and business development with the Ford Motor Co., where from 2005 to 2008 she was CEO of Volvo Cars of North America. In 2009, she joined Navistar International Corp. as vice president and chief marketing officer.

Most recently, Bélec was a consultant with Russell Reynolds and Associates. She will relocate to the company's headquarters in Valcourt.
