BRP has issued a voluntary recall of the 2014 Sea-Doo Spark personal watercraft, because the steering column/handlebar may have been incorrectly manufactured and could break under rough riding conditions.
"This could cause the operator to lose his balance and hit the personal watercraft, resulting in serious injuries or even death," BRP notified owners.
The OEM did not issue a "do not ride' advisory but instead stated, "As you are now aware of the details of this safety recall, if you continue to use your personal watercraft in the above described condition, be aware of the risks described therein."
Owners are instructed to take their Spark units to their BRP dealer for free repair.
