BRP Takes Over Distribution in Europe

Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP) plans to reinforce its presence in Europe by bringing all its product distribution in-house under the BRP umbrella.

As of Oct. 1, BRP will distribute Can-Am ATVs, Sea-Doo watercraft and sport boats, and Evinrude and Johnson outboard engines directly through its own network of dealers in Austria. Until then, BRP's ATVs, watercraft and sport boat products will continue to be supported by distributor Hochfilzer GmbH & CoKG, and the outboard engine business by distributor Autohaus Grosse. Can-Am Spyder roadsters and Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles are already distributed directly by BRP in Austria.

"In line with our strategy to accelerate growth in international markets, this decision will strengthen our market position and leverage our manufacturing presence in Austria where our affiliate BRP-Rotax has been for more than 85 years," says Chris Dawson, VP and general manager, International Division. "Hochfilzer has been a dealer of BRP snowmobiles since the 1970s and distributor for BRP products since 1999, and we intend to continue working with them as a key dealer for many years to come."

BRP has already established dealer networks in Asia Pacific, Latin American, North America, South America, Western Europe and Scandinavia, and has been present in Europe for over 30 years with manufacturing facilities in Austria (BRP-Rotax) and Finland (BRP Finland).
