Amateur sleuths will gather at Budke PowerSports this Saturday to help solve a faux crime in a CSI-style fundraiser Saturday at the sixth annual Lincoln County Crime Stoppers Benefit Ride and Crime Scene Run in Nebraska.
Riders will gather at Budke PowerSports at 10 a.m. for registration. At 11 a.m., groups will start traveling to the ‘crime scene,” where they will walk through looking for clues and evidence that might help solve the crime.
The motorcyclists will ride down U.S. Highway 30 to Gothenburg, Farnam, Curtis, Maywood and back up Highway 83 to Memorial Park. There, they'll be asked to answer various questions about the crime scene. Those with more than one correct answer will be entered into a drawing for a La-Z-Boy recliner donated by Erickson's Furniture, according to the North PlatteTelegraph.
NebraskaLand National Bank will grill hot dogs and hamburgers at the park, and more than $1,500 in other prize giveaways will be awarded. The cost to participate is $20, and advance registration is not required.
The event raises money for three agencies: Crime Stoppers, the Disabled American Veterans Association and the Great Plains Home Health and Hospice program.
