Buell is recalling about 3,316 units of its 1125R, XB12R and XB12SCG motorcycles because of front brake lines which may touch the front tire.
The recall includes the 2008 1125R, and 2009 XB12R and XB12SCG models. The subject motorcycles have a front brake line which may contact the front tire, possibly causing a hole to develop in the line and allow brake fluid to leak. This condition might cause an ineffective front brake, leading to a possible crash.
Dealers have been asked to re-route the front brake line. If damage to the brake line has occurred, the brake line will be replaced free of charge.
This is the second recall in the past year for the 1125R. In June 2008, Buell recalled 1,579 units of the 1125R because of 5th gear galling on the clutch shaft due to lack of lubrication that could result in the gear to seize to the shaft and result in a rear-wheel lock-up.
