Effective April 1, C-Systems Software will acquire fellow dealer management system maker Softpower Business Solutions. The combined company will continue to serve dealers already using Softpower’s programs, which will be rebranded Softpower by c-Systems and SoftBiz by c-Systems.
C-Systems says the combination will create “the largest, most technologically advanced business system vendor in the outdoor power equipment industry.” Softpower service and support will continue without interruption, with no changes in pricing, though Softpower customers will have access to c-Systems programs at a "significantly" reduced rate. Softpower's Connecticut office will remain open as usual.
“Sharing technology, uniting resources and eliminating duplication of effort will produce a company more focused, adept and agile,” c-Systems co-founder Jim Phelan stated in a press release.
C-Systems and Softpower have been in the same markets for more than 20 years. “By combining, we are able to create a stronger, more robust and efficient organization,” Softpower president Bob Senger said.
“The end result becomes a huge win for both companies, our customer base and the industries we serve,” Phelan said.
According to c-Systems, Softpower provides service to about 300 dealers in the outdoor power equipment, powersports and marine industries.
Texas-based c-Systems Software provides service to about 1,200 dealers and distributors in the powersports, outdoor power equipment, marine and golf industries.
