STURGIS, S.D. - The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame announced it is accepting nominations for the 2013 Hall of Fame and 2013 Freedom Fighters Hall of Fame.
Organizers will consider indivicuals, organizations and busineses that have made a positive and significant impact on motorcyling, said Joe Distefano, director of sales and marketing. The Freedom Fighters Hall of Fame considers nominees who have made significant impacts through their work in grassroots motorcycling rights efforts.
"Nomination forms must be accompanied by credentials which explain why an individual should be considered for induction," Distefano said. "Please keep in mind that while their achievements may be outstanding, not everyone knows it. A comprehensive overview of their accomplishments is necessary to make an informed and educated decision. Biographical info, newspaper articles, historical documents, etc. may be submitted. Credentials should be no longer than five pages long, including nomination form."
Nominations must be received by the museum no later than Jan. 11. Those chosen for the Halls of Fame will be honored during a breakfast induction ceremony Aug. 7 in Sturgis.
