MITCHELL, S.D. - Sabers Specialties has added a franchise and changed its name to Sabers Victory and V-Twin.
The dealer has 11 shiny new Victory units in various models on-hand and also carries CFMoto ATVs and SSVs. The new franchise should help expand the customer base.
“We’ve got both markets: we’ve got the biker groups and we’ve got the farmers,” said shop manager Lloyd Barbee. “Most of the guys that come in here are Harley guys, and we are just testing the waters and seeing what kind of new customers we’ll get.”
The franchise is the first, and likely only, Victory franchise for Mitchell, a town with a population around 15,000.
The dealership has three full-time employees, and will send them to Victory training. Though it has had the franchise for about two months, they’re still waiting for Victory signage to come in.
Once Victory gets settled, the store may look at other brands. “We’ve kind of been kicking KTM around,” Barbee said.
