China's Jiangsu Linhai Power Machinery Group Corporation is offering what could be the first utility-terrain vehicle to come from China.
Unveiled last year at EICMA in Italy, the Linhai 300, available in green and "Deepwoods" camouflage, is powered by a liquid-cooled 300cc four-stroke and features all the cab amenities found in modern UTVs — a tilt wheel, cup holders, cage-mounted seat belts, grab rails, a hand brake, and a transmission offering F/N/R/P.
Linhai was established in 1956, and the Linhai 300 wears 50th anniversary badging to show it. Haven't heard of Linhai? Yamaha has.
Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd. partnered with Linhai in 1994 to establish Jiangsu Linhai Yamaha Motor Company Ltd., tapping the Chinese manufacturer to produce and sell motorcycle engines.
In 2003, the two companies expanded the partnership to include the establishment of the joint venture Yamaha Motor Taizhou Outdoor Power Equipment Co. Ltd. to produce four-stroke multi-purpose engines.
