If you had a problem finding the Chinese exhibitors in recent years— they often were tucked away in side rooms or off in a nearby hotel—your problems were solved this year. The Chinese Pavilion is presented in a prominent spot on the main floor in the new exhibition hall.
As you walk through the pavilion you’ll notice several changes from last year: It’s smaller, but there are more exhibitors (38 compared to only 21 last year) and the mix is different— fewer OEMs and more apparel, parts and accessories exhibitors.
A new graphic treatment effectively ties together the pavilion and makes it more prominent and visible.
The Chinese are pushing the “Made in China” factor, reflecting the fact that many Chinese manufacturers are working to improve quality control systems and production processes to meet U.S. market demands at competitive prices. Chinese exhibitors located in the Chinese Pavilion and elsewhere at the show include CFMOTO Powersports, EDI Automotive, Yucell Industry Ltd, Lexon Electronics, Ltd., and Zhejiang Qihe Sports Co., Ltd.
Among the first-time vendors is Yucell Industry, a manufacturer of powersports batteries. It’s been in the manufacturing business for18 years and has a monthly production capacity of 450,000 units. Yucell carries replacement motorcycle batteries for BMW, Honda, Harley-Davidson, Yamaha and other types of street and off-road motorcycles. It also has batteries for scooter, ATV, snowmobile and PWCs.
Lexin Electronics. Ltd. develops and produces motorcycle electronic products including GPS navigation systems, Bluetooth intercom headsets, helmet camcorder, and mirror-speaker combination systems. Lexin has new helmet products at the show including motorcycle Bluetooth intercom headsets for three riders and six riders, as well the model HD 720P and model HD 1080P helmet camcorder.
Helmet manufacturer Zhejiang Qihe Sports Co., Ltd has been exhibiting at Dealer Expo for several years. It has a monthly production capacity of 25,000 motorcycle helmets and includes onsite injection, painting, graphics, and assembly facilities. Zhejiang helmets are ECER 2205 and DOT FMVSS No.218 certified.
