SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - After two and half years of success in South San Francisco, Moto Shop has moved into a 6,000-sq.-ft. standalone warehouse in the city of San Francisco.
Moto Shop is a community motorcycle garage where riders can work on their own motorcycle or scooter and/or take a class to learn how.
The new space contains many tools necessary to fix and maintain a motorcycle, including on-site help. The shop has eight motorcycle lift stations and two tire change machines. Each workstation also comes with its own set of tools, compressed air and work bench. There are also hundreds of shared specialty tools and supplies available. Shop hours are flexible, open late during the week and every weekend.
In addition to workstations, classes are offered in basic and advanced maintenance. Class sizes are typically limited to three students and work is performed on the students’ own motorcycles. Workshops are designed to teach the average person how to work on their own motorcycle, on a specific task, in a short session, with an instructor guiding the way. No previous motorcycle knowledge is required or expected.
