Combo b-day party: Dealer turns 10 as Harley turns 110

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With the 110th anniversary of a brand to celebrate along with its own 10th anniversary, Harley-Davidson Bowling Green is planning its biggest birthday celebration ever for June 14 through 16.

The dealership is hosting a free three-day festival featuring a drawing for a new 2013 Sportster, music, food, a vendors midway, family-friendly activities and a campout.

Features include five different areas for fun: adult play area featuring a zipline, mechanical bull rides, cash cube, redneck water slide, pit crew challenge, the "Hog Haven Saloon" and more; Sports Zone with sports activities, equipment and supervision for teens; Main Street with vendors of motorcycle parts, accessories, clothing, food and drinks; Kids Zone with bounce house, face painting and games; and a Main Stage for music acts.

Highlights include bands Poison Karma, J Curly Speegle and Confederate Railroad June 14; a Bowling Green Police Motorcycle riding demonstration and battle of the bands June 15 with local acts competing for a chance to open for Saturday's co-headlining music act, original Lynrd Skynrd member Artimus Pyle and his Skynrd cover band.

June 16 opens with a rededication in remembrance of dealership founder and Harley-Davidson enthusiast Cornelius Martin, followed by judging for the store's 10th and H-D's 110th anniversary birthday cake competition and Kentucky Blues Society's Blues Jam. The drawing for the bike will be at 4 p.m.
