The Commander MAX 1000 is an all-new line, while the Maverick 1000R X mr is a mud-specific addition to the Maverick family.
Commander MAX 1000 DPS/XT: The newest side-by-sides in the Can-Am family are the Commander MAX 1000 DPS ($16,199) and XT ($17,799) four-seaters. Both feature Can-Am’s Dynamic Passenger Comfort setup, with dual handholds and stadium-style seats to fit four adults. The Commander MAX 1000s are powered by the 976cc Rotax V-Twin engine and include Tri-Mode Dynamic Power Steering, Double A-arm front suspension and TTI rear suspension. A dual-level cargo box can hold 600 pounds, and the Commander MAX has a towing capacity of up to 1500 pounds.
The XT package includes a WARN winch, front bumper, mud guards, 27-inch Maxxis tires, cargo bed rails and additional colors not available in the DPS model.
Maverick 1000R X mr: The Maverick 1000R X mr ($21,499) is designed for muddy terrain, and has purpose-built features like strategically placed engine air intake and CVT inlets and outlets. The two-seat side-by-side, which is based on the Maverick platform, has front and rear Air Control Suspension for Fox Air-Assist HPG Piggyback shocks, 30-inch Gorilla Axle Silverback tires and 14-inch cast-aluminum ITP wheels. X package perks like the WARN winch, X-package logo and color schemes are also included. Designed for both competition and recreational riding, the Maverick 1000R X mr is powered by the Rotax 1000R EFI V-Twin engine.
Can-Am has also announced new color options for returning models. Both the 2014 Can-Am Maverick 1000R DPS two-seater and Maverick MAX 1000R DPS will be available in Can-Am Red. The Outlander DPS models, comprising the Outlander MAX ATVs (500, 650, 800R and 1000) will have a choice of Light Grey for 2014 models.
