PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. - Owners Preston Farrior and Gary Bang are monitoring construction at their new Harley-Davidson of Panama City Beach dealership, at 14700 Panama City Beach Parkway (see artist rendering, right).

The fishing village-themed dealership, once completed, will provide more than 38,000 sq. ft. of retail and service space, plus a Rider's Edge training classroom and outside course. The five-acre site also will eventually house a stage and event facility, and the owners plan for the dealership to become a destination point during future Thunder Beach motorcycle rallies.

"This is a beautiful place to live and there are a lot of people around the area that like to ride," said Bang. "We believe the dealership will also help to attract riders from all over the world who want to come here to vacation."

While the dealership is new, the owners are not new to the industry. The dealership itself is part of the Tampa Harley Group, which has other dealerships in Tampa, Brandon and New Port Richey. "My family has been in the motorcycle business since 1911," Bang said. "I grew up working in the shop and racing bikes."

Preston's family started a Tampa-based bicycle shop in 1895 and evolved it into an auto and then motorcycle business. "Because of our family histories in the business, we bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the organization," Preston said. Bang reportedly rides a 2012 Road Glide, while Preston owns a custom Springer Softail.

The dealership is set for completion next spring.
