MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Authorities are looking for the thieves who took a half dozen Kubota ATVs from Capital Tractor around 4:30 a.m. Feb. 9.

"Three zero-turn mowers and three RTVs, Kubota equipment and it totaled about $72,000 our cost, which is a pretty big hit for us," said co-owner Don Greer. That was the second time the store has been hit in a year. The last time was in August. With the help of police the $65,000 item was recovered. A suspect has been charged in that case.

Greer will work with police to improve security, but he said it took a matter of seconds for the thieves to hop onto a vehicle, use a generic key and take off.

"They break through and load it up on trailers where they are not being filmed. It's in high demand and so I guess it would be easy to get rid of,” Greer told WSFA. “If someone approaches you and said, ‘hey I got a good deal for you,’ It might send up a red flag. Check it out, maybe call the authorities or someone who handles that product and ask is it a good deal or is something fishy going on?"

Anyone who can help identify the thieves is asked to call Crimestoppers at 334-215-STOP.
