NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – Authorities are looking for two men who staged a burglary of Chopper Town early Tuesday morning from a truck parked in adjacent highway lanes.

According to police, the men parked a 17-ft. U-Haul truck in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 and used a ladder to break into the second-floor window of the shop.

"They broke a window with a hatchet -- an impact window -- so it's not an easy window to break," Chopper Town owner Ariel Schmidt told WPLG.

The men were trying to get away with bikes worth more than $10,000, as well as $1,500 rims, when a commuter spotted the truck and called police.

"Bizarre that they would try to do it on the highway side," Schmidt said, adding the men ran away when police got to the scene, ditching the U-Haul and ladder.
