Custom builder Chris Richardson of LA Speed Shop in Alhambra, Calif., has won the eighth annual “Artistry in Iron” Master Builders' Championship held during the Las Vegas BikeFest.
This is the second year in a row that Richardson has taken the top award and the $10,000 grand prize.
The competition is an invitation-only, peer-judged custom bike event that draws the world's premier builders to unveil their newest designs. "The detail and creativity exhibited on Richardson's bike impressed all the participants judging the competition," said Mindi Cherry, the rally’s event manager. "These are the best of the best builders in the world so the review process is extremely competitive."
American Cycle Magazine sponsored the competition and presented Richardson with his cash prize and a custom-designed trophy during the VIP award ceremony held for the Artistry in Iron participants.
Richardson will receive an invitation to participate at the ninth annual Artistry in Iron competition during the 12th Annual Las Vegas BikeFest Sept. 27 to 30, 2012.
