KANKAKEE, Ill. – A longtime custom motorcycle builder has opened a new shop here in east-central Illinois, and says he hopes to attract Harley-Davidson owners.
Justin Nichols of Watseka just opened Nichols Paint & Fabrication.
"I'd been doing it the past seven years in my garage. I just decided it was time to expand," he told the Daily Journal.
His 3,000-sq. ft. shop is open six days a week. While he specializes in work on Harley-Davidsons, he reportedly works on all makes and models. Nichols said he’ll also take on pre-1950s cars, but 80 percent of the shop's work will be motorcycles.
He runs the store with wife Kimberly and employee Nacin Buhrmester. So far, business is brisk. "We're pretty swamped, but that's a good thing," he said.
